I can’t remember exactly when I began taking photos. I still have the first camera my parents ever gave me though — a small, digital camera, perfect for taking as many photos as a kid could desire, without breaking the bank on film.
I do know when I got my first DSLR, which I still use to this day. My Canon Rebel T3i has been among my most precious possessions since the 10th grade.
Since purchasing that camera, I tested my abilities on all kinds of subjects, until I finally settled on my niche: wildlife and landscapes. While I still like to do street photography from time to time, nothing seems to excite me the way finding an owl in the woods, or a particularly well-grown tree does.
