Owls

Owls are easily one of my favourite birds to photograph. They always know precisely how to work their angles, and since they also tend to stay relatively still when sitting you can really play with your camera settings when the light is getting low.

Barred Owls are the most frequently photographed bird in this collection, partially due to my own access and partially due to how common they are in my area. But don’t mistake common for boring — since I get to spend more time with them than any other owl, the chances of getting a much cooler shot increases exponentially.
